Thank you to our Blue Cross Medicare Advantage members. Being ranked #1 in Michigan for Medicare Advantage Plan customer satisfaction by J.D. Power is an honor. This award is given to the health plan that ranks first place overall in its segment in the J.D. Power 2025 U.S. Medicare Advantage Study.

From getting answers when you need them to feeling confident in your coverage and helping you save time or money, this recognition reflects the experience of our membership. We’re proud to serve you and committed to keeping our members’ needs at the center of everything we do.
For the past several years, we have created initiatives and taken the following steps to ensure a satisfying customer experience for our Medicare Advantage members:
- Ensuring affordable, accessible health care is our mission. Blue Cross is a responsible steward of every health care dollar we receive to pay for our members’ health and we continue to work toward system-wide solutions to reduce the cost of health care and health insurance premiums. In 2024, we used nine cents of every dollar on administration, and we are committed to lowering our administrative costs by $600 million over three years.
- Silver Sneakers is an extra benefit that comes with most Blue Cross Medicare Advantage plans. It's great for keeping fit and active, gives members access to more than 14,000 fitness centers, a kick-off with a personal advisor, specialized classes, seminars and a plan to help you lose weight and keep it off.
- An improved digital experience with bcbsm.com and an app and member account that allows members to access all of their benefits in one account.
- Personalized member engagement, including an improved onboarding experience to help members understand their benefits.
- More virtual care options for members to provide access to board-certified doctors, nurse practitioners for physical and mental health and dentists for oral health needs.
- Reduction of prior authorizations and a new prior authorization tracking solution for members, allowing members to understand the status of authorizations for their care through the member account and push notifications.
- More access to behavioral health care through our Collaborative Care Program, available in more than 240 Patient-Centered Medical Home primary care practices to improve quality and access to life-changing care, while preventing more than $6.3 billion in unnecessary medical experiences
- Additional care management and advocacy services through Blue Cross Coordinated Care.
