Blue Care Network Expands Local Network Medicare Offerings for Michigan Seniors in Four West Michigan Counties

DETROIT, Nov. 10, 2016— Blue Care Network of Michigan is expanding its local network product offerings for Medicare-eligible individuals in West Michigan with the development of BCN AdvantageSM HMO HealthySaver and MyChoice Wellness plans with Mercy Health-affiliated doctors. The two affordably-priced plans will be available in four Michigan counties: Kent, Muskegon, Oceana and Ottawa. Both BCN Advantage HealthySaver and MyChoice Wellness plans combine Medicare Part A and Medicare Part B benefits into one complete package, in addition to Part D drug coverage that helps protect against unexpected pharmacy costs. Both plans offer a low monthly premium, a $0 medical deductible and the SilverSneakers® Fitness program, in addition to other benefits. With more than 1,300 doctors and specialists and four hospitals in the network, each plan offers access to a wide variety of providers within the local area. “We have valued partners in both BCN Advantage HealthySaver and MyChoice Wellness plans that allow Blue Care Network to deliver a very competitively priced product to the over-65 population seeking affordable, quality health care,” said Julie Smith, senior vice president of Senior Health Services at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. “Many people seek the majority of their care close to home, so we’ve seen more and more seniors looking to trade broad network access for a quality, local network and a lower-cost insurance premium.
