At Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, our mission is to be a trusted partner in health care, providing affordable coverage and innovative programs that help manage health conditions and costs. Blue Care Network helps us meet these goals and contributed significantly to all we achieved in 2021. BCN’s role in developing strategic partnerships and effective health programs has lowered out-of-pocket costs for members while ensuring their health care is received at the right time and place. We added value with personalized digital resources, helping to make plans more understandable and more satisfying for our HMO customers and members. Together, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Blue Care Network stood strong to serve those who depend on us, especially in times of crisis. BCN demonstrated unwavering dedication to members as the organization joined the collective efforts of waiving out-of-pocket costs for COVID-19 vaccines, supporting flu shot clinics for all ages across the state and investing in six new medical centers in underserved Metro Detroit neighborhoods. Our company is also driven to help people overcome the social and environmental factors that can affect their health; BCN was part of our important work to reach more than 5,000 Patient-Centered Medical Home providers and to advocate for unbiased medical care. I’m proud of what Blue Care Network has accomplished in a uniquely challenging year. As you’ll see in the 2021 Highlights of the BCN Annual Report, Blue Care Network is committed to our HMO customers and members and consistently focused on creating greater access to more affordable, quality care. Working together, Blue Cross and Blue Care Network will achieve even more in the years to come.
