#PowerofBlue :: BCBSM’s long-standing relationship with Capuchin Soup Kitchen

As corporate secretary at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, Keith oversees administration of the board of directors and Executive Services. In addition, she oversees Community Responsibility and Corporate Services, composed of Real Estate and Facilities Support Services, Procurement, Security and Business Continuity. Keith also serves as secretary of BluesPAC. She is also a member on several other boards, including the Detroit Regional Chamber, Michigan Minority Supplier Development Council, Michigan Economic Development Foundation and The Parade Company.
A good meal and clean clothes are easy comforts to take for granted. Unfortunately, for some residents of Detroit, these basic needs require a constant struggle to obtain. 87 years ago a knock on a door spurred the growth of a local non-profit that would ensure all hard struck Detroit residents had a place where they could find clothing, food and the resources to improve their circumstances. This organization would become the Capuchin Soup Kitchen. As a champion for the city of Detroit, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan’s relationship with Capuchin is unique. Our President and CEO Daniel J. Loepp has a personal and invested interest in the organization, and has contributed significant time and resources to ensure Capuchin continues to meet the needs of the community. The soup kitchen largely relies on donations, so working with other community partners, Dan Loepp has lead by example; passionately inspiring employee activation and support around Capuchin’s mission. Tricia Keith, executive vice president, chief of staff and corporate secretary, shares how Dan Loepp’s ongoing support for Capuchin inspired and rallied employees around this important cause.
