A grant opportunity is now available for Michigan food pantries seeking to expand their infrastructure in an effort to address food and nutrition insecurity. United Dairy Industry of Michigan (UDIM), in collaboration with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, Blue Cross Complete of Michigan and the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Foundation are accepting grant program applications for the third consecutive year to increase the capacity of local food pantries to provide nutrient-rich fresh food options that require refrigeration.

Food Pantry Grant Applications Open to Address Food and Nutrition Insecurity

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan is working closely with Blue Cross Complete of Michigan as well as state officials to ensure everyone continues to have access to health care coverage – both for individuals that continue to qualify for our Medicaid plans and for individuals statewide now eligible for Blue health plans on the individual market and through their employers.

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, Blue Cross Complete of Michigan and United Dairy Industry of Michigan (UDIM) today announced $243,500 in grant funding awarded to 110 food pantries as part of the Food Pantry Grant Program, to improve access to nutrient-rich foods including dairy, fruit and vegetables.
