Through contests, challenges and social media channels, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan's #MIKidsCan initiative has been working to improve the health of kids in Michigan. Since September, Michigan kids have been showing off how they stay active, eat nutritious meals and enjoy healthy lifestyles. The February airing of the Healthier Michigan Radio Show celebrates this progress and looks forward to ways kids can do even better at home, at school and in Michigan at large. Radio show guests described ways for families to be fully involved in health and wellness, as well as the Building Healthy Communities program. The full list of guests for February's airing of the Healthier Michigan Radio Show includes:
- Andy Hetzel, vice president of Corporate Communications for BCBSM
- David Hurnevich, principal of Madison Elementary School in Madison Heights
- Sidney Edmonds, a mom from Big Rapids
- Vince McKinnon, manager of Wellness and Engagement Operations at BCBSM
Listen in below to hear the full show and tune in to WJR on the first Tuesday of each month from 7 to 8 p.m. to hear each program live. https://soundcloud.com/bcbsm/the-healthier-michigan-radio-show-february-2015 An additional component of #MIKidsCan is the recently launched #MIKidsCanDance Instagram contest in partnership with the Detroit Pistons Mob Squad. If your child dances or is a part of a dance studio, they have the chance to submit a dance video and win prizes like unique performance opportunities and tickets to a Detroit Pistons game. More information on the contest and the Mob Squad can found here. Photo credit: A Healthier Michigan Like the Healthier Michigan Radio Show? You may also enjoy these posts:
