Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, LifeSecure Insurance Company and Dearborn National Life Insurance Company have signed an agreement to market Dearborn National insurance products alongside BCBSM medical, dental and vision offerings to Michigan groups. The four comprehensive Dearborn National products are group short-term disability, group long-term disability and group term life, available in January, and group critical illness available mid 2015. Dearborn National’s short-term and long-term disability insurance products provide benefits when sickness or injury prevents an employee from working. Term life provides benefits to help ensure employees and their families have the protection they may need. Critical illness pays a lump sum when employees or their covered family members have a covered illness or procedure. LifeSecure’s three products are group hospital recovery, group personal accident and long-term care, and are available now. This new arrangement aligns three organizations with significant product expertise to provide a flexible and affordable portfolio of group and voluntary products alongside medical, dental and vision plans to meet the diverse needs of group employers and their employees. “We are excited about this agreement with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and LifeSecure,” said Greg Benesh, CEO of Dearborn National. “Working together, we can provide a comprehensive solution to the benefit needs of employers and their employees.” “This collaboration is another example of our commitment to being a resource for our members and giving them the opportunity to cover medical and other health needs at a reasonable cost with ease,” said Kevin Stutler, BCBSM vice president, Ancillary Products. “Working with Blue Cross and Dearborn National presents us with a unique opportunity to support a suite of insurance solutions that benefit employees and their families as we continue to grow as a company,” said Tiffany Albert, LifeSecure president and CEO.
